Summer Goals | Tone It Up!

Summer is generally a time when I relax, spend more time with my family and friends, go to the beach, lay out by the pool, and enjoy barbecue and summer cocktails. While this summer will definitely include all of those things, it will be a wee bit different. This is my first summer as an official member of Tone It Up!

For those of you who haven't yet heard about Tone It Up (TIU), it's one of the largest and most supportive female fitness communities founded by two gorgeous, inspiring women, Karena & Katrina. I was debating integrating this part of my life with my blog, but I've come to the conclusion that I just HAVE to share it with you! I joined the Tone It Up team in November 2014. And since then, I've lost weight, toned up, and met some amazing women through this program, the women I now call my TIU sisters.

Tone It Up offers not only a loving & supportive community composed of women from all over the United States and the world but also amazing nutrition plans, free YouTube workouts and weekly schedules, Beach Babe DVDs, and even tons of fitness accessories, protein powder, and bikinis! I own the Gluten Free TIU Nutrition Plan. It has hundreds of fresh, colorful, and delicious recipes. I would highly recommend checking all of the above out! 

Every season, Tone It Up hosts a challenge. The spring Bikini Series Challenge just ended, but the summer Bikini Program Challenge has just begun! The TIU challenges include a weekly workout schedule, a meal guide, daily challenges, and TONS of inspiration. 

At the beginning of each challenge, Karena & Katrina ask us to share our goals and intentions for the season. My goals for this summer include:

1) Worry less. I admit that I definitely worry too much and too often. I am totally aware that it's not healthy for my body or my mind. This summer, I am going to make a conscious effort to maintain sense of calm and peace.

2) Get more sleep. Ever since I was a child, I have had a difficult time getting to sleep. I've always been a person of the night. I feel alert, inspired, and alive when the clock strikes 10:00 p.m. But, since I work a normal 9-5, staying up late does not work with my daily schedule AT ALL. I almost never seem to get a solid eight hours of sleep, and that definitely needs to change. 

3) Drink more H2O. Call me crazy, but I have never been a huge fan of drinking water. Since joining Tone It Up, I have drastically increased my water intake. But, it's still not where it needs to be. I hope to increase my water intake to one half of my body weight by mid-summer. 

4) Travel. Last summer, I didn't go on any trips. I was still adjusting to post-grad life and had a move planned at the end of the summer. I was enjoying the stability and monotony. But, my boyfriend and I vowed to get out and travel as much as we could this year to make up for it. We have taken a few trips already this year and have even more planned for this summer. I will be sharing my travels, old and new, with you!

5) Work out daily. I tend to go through periods of exercising consistently and periods of total laziness. Joining Tone It Up has definitely helped me be more motivated and consistent. This summer, I hope to work out EVERY SINGLE DAY! I want this to be my best challenge yet.

  1. I hope to develop a healthier relationship with food this summer by breaking up with those things that make me sick! This year has become a struggle with staying on track.

    Can't wait to watch you accomplish your goals this summer! How inspiring. :D
